The first one was the black one, I only bought a new one, because I change my laptop to a 17.3 inches one and the previous backpack was too small for it. This one, like the previous is sturdy, compact, but can carry a lot, has compartiments for everything, so you can still be organized and had a ton of things. I use it for traveling from city to city to work. The color is perfect for everyday and traveling, caramel/light brown is very forgiving with normal dirt. I love the security pocket on the side, is a nice update on older version that have the the back and is a little more uncomfortable to reach when you’re carry the bag.”

Customer Review: “This is a big, sturdy bag — it’s not some little thing that will crumple away in a corner. The bag by itself weighs a fair bit; it’s got padding in multiple areas, there’s some 3D cushioning on the back for a bit of breathability, and the base material is thick. So it’s substantial. The zippers are all nice, too; they’re a clear upgrade from standard zipper pulls and they give a classy touch to it, if you set aside the standard black plastic buckles.It’s also not a simple bag. There are zippers in some unexpected places which open up new dimensions of storage, to the point that (unlike a lot of bags in this size class) I think you could actually get some use out of the compression straps to manage and compress the stuff you put in it. It’s billed both as a travel backpack and as a laptop backpack. It’s clearly really intended as a travel bag into which, yes, you can also put a laptop, but that’s not its reason for being.My read is that this is a sort of one-bag solution for a short trip, or I guess longer if that’s your approach. It has bottom-loading, separated storage which I think is ideal for shoes. It’s got three separate layers of vertical storage, not counting that shoe storage, which you can use to separate your various clothing/technology/toiletry needs. There’s a separate compression strap in one of the compartments, too, to help compress and hold clothes in place. The mesh and drybag (really just a separated plastic storage area; I think it would work fine for damp things but maybe not something soaking wet) seem useful, too.I’m a bit less sure about the detachable bag, primarily because I don’t think it’s something I’ll use. It’s well made and decently solid in its own right, though, and for someone else, it might be a great addition to streamline your packing.Overall, It’s going to get some good use from me on overnight trips and that kind of thing. It’s capacious and flexible enough that I can use this instead of having to deal with some kind of rolling bag or duffel. Should be nice and durable, too.”

If you put your laptop and tech gear in a little sloppily, you’ll feel it on your back.Laptop/tech space: Good enough. Large pouches good to hold 2 laptops/tablets. Customer Review: “I recently traveled from the Big Island of Hawaii to Sedona, and since I didn’t want to check in any luggage, I decided to travel with just my carry-on suitcase and this backpack that I ordered.In conclusion, I really like this backpack. When packing, it opens wide like a duffel bag, which made it easy to organize my things. There’s another compartment where I could safely store my laptop. I was able to fit quite a lot of clothes inside. It got heavy when fully packed, but once I fastened the chest strap, it felt much more comfortable to carry.The size was perfect for a carry-on and fit easily under the seat in front of me, so I didn’t even need to use the overhead bin. After getting off the plane, I could slide the backpack over the handle of my carry-on suitcase using the pass-through strap, which was really convenient. It also has a side handle, so I could carry it like a duffel bag if I wanted.In Sedona, I used it for hiking—it was great for carrying my camera, jacket, snacks, and lunch. I thought it might be a little big at first, but the external buckles and straps allowed me to adjust the size and make it more compact.I’m really glad I bought this backpack. I chose the black one, and I love the design—it looks really stylish. Next year, I plan to travel to California, and I’ll definitely bring this backpack again along with my carry-on suitcase. The backpack is spacious, has enough storage for all electronics and other handy emergency accessories such as but not limited to first aid kit, couple of water bottles up to at least 4-5” diameter, holds a laptop that’s 17” perfectly and includes a pouch for tablet up to 8”, the straps are adjustable for comfort between different sized adults (5’3” to 6’1”) and most importantly the color. Love the black and white combination with the white sections being reflective helps while wearing it and walking in the dark. Overall, 5 stars isn’t an exaggeration but very well deserved for such a backpack that adds lot of value for the price. Customer Review: “I was looking for a backpack that wouldn’t break the bank, but would still be of decent quality and have lots of organization and good padding, especially on the straps and the back. Now to be honest I’ know the saying you get what you pay for. To a point that can be true because I purchased two backpacks that cost around 25.00 for one and the other was thirty give or take. They were both horrible. One of them ripped inside on the seam the first week and the other was too flimsy and felt cheap. Now getting to the point…I read the other reviews about this backpack and honestly was surprised that most of them for the price point were good. So I bought one in black, the smaller one that is 25 liters. It is of very good quality and the padding is very good! The straps are wide and comfortable and the back padding is distributed very well. There are many pockets with well thought out organization. I pack the bag very full mainly using it for work. Surprisingly when it is fully packed it feels light on my back. I would definitely recommend this bag to everyone that is not a label whore!”
