The batteries last a very long time, too. I use it several times a week as I travel to remote, mountaintop locations for work, and can easily let my family know I’ve arrived safely and, using the custom message feature, let them know heading home.If I had one complaint, it is that the unit turns off after maybe an hour. It would be nice if it stayed ‘armed’ to send a message for longer, so you don’t have to hold the power button for 3 seconds and allow it to re-acquire GPS before sending another message. The first gen model stayed on for days and I loved that feature.But seriously, this is an awesome PLB and half the price of other brands. Go for it.”

The app is easy to use and it works just as it should. The reviews that said the battery doesn’t last… That’s debatable. If you are constantly checking it, it kills the battery faster. But if you aren’t checking it at all, it’s lasts. I have put it on my trailer for 5 days without checking it, and the battery was still at 98 percent. But when someone had it, and I was checking it throughout the day, it dropped to 88 percent in a few hours. So, how long it lasts, really depends on how often you check it. Other than that, it’s great. No complaints, and beats having to pay a monthly fee every month.”

The app also allows you to set up notifications and alerts, although I personally prefer just checking it manually whenever I want. Overall the signal is strong, the updates are reliable, and it does exactly what it is supposed to do. If you are looking for a GPS tracker that is accurate, dependable, and has great battery life I would definitely recommend this one because it gives me a lot of peace of mind knowing I can quickly check where my son is when I need to.”
