Customer Review: Bought this backpack for a 15 day international trip to be used in conjunction with a small carryon bag. It more than met my needs for all items I would need in a hurry, e.g. passport, travel documents, meds, water bottle, snacks, jacket, etc. I literally took it on planes, buses, trains and cars and it was perfect. Fit well under plane seats and in overhead bins on trains and buses. Well made, durable, functional and comfortable. I did use the expandable function a time or two and that was really helpful. The price was right and Osprey is the only pack or bag I consider when buying.

Customer Review: LOVE! I like to travel (fly) without checking any bags and this backpack is essential for me. It opens up clamshell-style like a suitcase so all my stuff pack up easily. The default “size” is roomy but not too big, and when you need more space the bag zips to expand so you can fit more stuff in. Still fits under seat on plane as personal item, so a separate carry-on bag can be put above the seat. The padding on the straps and back of the bag is firm but cushioned. I got the solid gray color so it’s perfect for all styles. The quality is impressive. Overall for the price I couldn’t be happier.

There are 3 sections and as I read other reviews before purchasing, you could put 2 laptops EASILY in the first section. All 3 sections are roomy, and then another outside zippered pocket.To be honest I probably haven’t noticed a lot of other things this bag has.Long story short, if you’re wondering if this bag is worth buying, YES.

I had been trying to find a backpack that would be large enough (but also not too big), for EDC to go to and from college classes, as well as being used when traveling as a carry on or road trips for long weekends. As soon as I opened the box and saw the backpack I could tell how well it was made. I absolutely loved the dark orange with the black accents, it definitely has just a great color for outdoor vibes. The zippers are amazing, they glide so smooth and just love the rubber pulls on them. Super easy to grab and use without getting caught. I tried Jansport but the zippers on that backpack were AWFUL. Constantly getting snagged and no where near designed to last.This bag has a small fleece pocket for valuables like wallet, keys, sunglasses etc. Then has two other pockets, the middle one is for organization it has a couple mesh pockets that can hold things like a charger, a small zipper pocket, and a couple Molle like webbing to hold pens/pencils etc. Then the larger pocket has 3 separate dividers, two are lined to hold a laptop and tablet, the divider between them doesn’t have the fleece lining but is great for more organization and can hold things like folders or notebooks.All in all such a great backpack. I didn’t want something too big as I am petite at 5’2, and this bag really is built to last. I had one other Opsrey pack when I went to South America, but this is my first backpack (non-hiking pack) and the quality from this brand is incredible. If you put your laptop and tech gear in a little sloppily, you’ll feel it on your back.Laptop/tech space: Good enough. Large pouches good to hold 2 laptops/tablets. Has one bag area for putting smaller things, but I wouldn’t mind another pouch/bag or two in the tech area.Outer space: The outer space is decent and expands to a good size. Easily enough room for me to pack a few days of clothes. I like how you can access this space from the outside or from the tech side.Function: The full unfolding feature is great! You can open up the backpack like a clamshell and have full easy access to everything in the bag. I also like the “security” pocket that isn’t easily pick pocketable. When packing, it opens wide like a duffel bag, which made it easy to organize my things. There’s another compartment where I could safely store my laptop. I was able to fit quite a lot of clothes inside. It got heavy when fully packed, but once I fastened the chest strap, it felt much more comfortable to carry.The size was perfect for a carry-on and fit easily under the seat in front of me, so I didn’t even need to use the overhead bin. After getting off the plane, I could slide the backpack over the handle of my carry-on suitcase using the pass-through strap, which was really convenient. It also has a side handle, so I could carry it like a duffel bag if I wanted.In Sedona, I used it for hiking—it was great for carrying my camera, jacket, snacks, and lunch. I thought it might be a little big at first, but the external buckles and straps allowed me to adjust the size and make it more compact.I’m really glad I bought this backpack. I chose the black one, and I love the design—it looks really stylish. Next year, I plan to travel to California, and I’ll definitely bring this backpack again along with my carry-on suitcase. Quality is great, many color ways to choose from, and extremely functional! I don’t require much! Biggest thing I was looking for is a side pocket that fits my water bottles well to where I can take it out and put it back with ease (i.e. not have to fight or struggle to get the bottle back in, major per peece!). The mesh pockets allow my 40oz Owala bottles (even the one with a side handle) to slide in and out with ease. And then the small front pocket is great for easy access to my wallet/ID cards and meds. Another bonus is that the backpack can also slide onto the handle of a carry on luggage! Which makes it all the better to fly with. The chest and hip straps also gives good support too. Also I have multiple osprey bags that I’ve used for years and the quality is still there! Yep, can’t rave enough about this bag, definitely worth it!
